Outlook — your inbox and calendar, searchable in English.

Part of the Microsoft 365 connector: Claude reads and searches your Outlook email and calendar, briefs you before meetings, and finds open slots.

Setup: ~2 minDifficulty: EasyBest for: Microsoft shops

What it does

One connection covers Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive. For Outlook specifically: Claude searches and summarizes your email, reads your calendar, and finds meeting availability. It reads — it doesn't send. Claude drafts the reply; you paste and send it from Outlook yourself.

How to install

  1. Open Claude (claude.ai or the desktop app) and go to Settings → Connectors.
  2. Find Microsoft 365 and click Connect.
  3. Sign in with your work Microsoft account. (Your IT admin may need to approve the app once for the whole company.)

Use cases

uc/01The Monday catch-up

"Summarize the emails I received over the weekend. Which ones actually need a response from me?"

uc/02The follow-up sweep

"Search my sent mail from last week — which threads never got a reply? Draft follow-up text for the important ones."

uc/03Meeting prep, automatic

"What's on my calendar tomorrow? For each meeting, pull the recent email history with the attendees and brief me."

uc/04Scheduling without ping-pong

"Find three open 45-minute slots next week for a call with Dan, avoiding Tuesdays, and draft the email offering them."

uc/05Email archaeology

"Search my email for what we agreed with Baker Supply about pricing last spring. Quote the exact language."
Good to know: The Microsoft 365 connector is read-and-search only — it can't send email or change your calendar, which is exactly why cautious IT departments tend to approve it. For inboxes carrying regulated or client-confidential data, talk to us before connecting.
